about abby

Abby Ciabaton recently graduated from Northwestern University, receiving a BA in Theatre and a Music Theatre Certificate. Over the course of their four years at NU, Abby discovered a deep love for performing, directing, and choreographing.

Onstage, Abby has appeared again and again in their classic roles: obnoxious teen, spunky ensemble dancer, and heart-breaking little sister. Abby’s passion for literature has turned them into a script analysis enthusiast – especially when it comes to heightened text. Last summer, Abby had the privilege of studying with Prague Shakespeare Company and playing Viola in their production of Twelfth Night. At NU, Abby was an active member of both Arts Alliance, a student-run theatre company, and Boomshaka, a drum and dance group. Outside of the performing arts, Abby is passionate about environmental sustainability, social justice, working with kids, and spontaneously quoting Bojack Horseman.

Abby’s most recent artistic endeavors include playing CB’s Sister in Dog Sees God, directing a new play called Rest Stop, and choreographing for NU’s largest dance show, Refusionshaka.
